Newfoundland & Labrador has everything needed to drive clean energy growth
Newfoundland and Labrador is poised to become a leader in clean energy. We have some of the strongest wind resources in the world, a 94% renewable hydroelectric grid, and strategic access to global markets. Our deep-sea ports remain ice-free year-round, and we have abundant land, freshwater, and significant energy storage potential—thanks to salt domes and pumped storage.
With a well-established energy-sector supply chain and a highly skilled workforce experienced in major energy, mining, and infrastructure projects, our province is ready for large-scale clean energy development. As the industry grows, thousands of skilled workers will be needed in engineering, skilled trades, operations, and planning.
