JOB DESCRIPTION
Engineers design, develop and implement systems while
consulting with clients and other members of the engineering
team to determine project requirements. They work on projects
involving wind, solar, hydrogen and other renewable energy
sources, optimizing efficiency and ensuring compliance with
industry standards.
GENERAL JOB TASKS
Design, develop and optimize renewable energy systems,
including solar panels, wind turbines, and hydroelectric
projects.
Conduct feasibility studies, energy assessments, and site
evaluations for new and existing projects.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project
managers, environmental scientists, and construction teams.
Ensure projects comply with local, national, and
international environmental and energy regulations.
Utilize simulation and modeling software to analyze energy
production, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
Oversee the installation, testing, and maintenance of
renewable energy equipment.
Research and implement innovative technologies to improve
system performance and sustainability.
Develop project documentation, technical reports, and
presentation for stakeholders.
TRAINING
Individuals interested in becoming a professional engineer can complete a Bachelor of Engineering and
choose one of 7 majors: Civil, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Ocean Naval, or Process
Engineering. Students will also complete mandatory work-term placements throughout their educational
program to gain hands-on experience and exposure.
