Entry-Level Construction Worker – BAC Masonry College

Do you want to become a bricklayer or concrete finisher? The BAC Masonry College has you covered! In the First Year of the Bricklayer Program, students will complete nineteen of the thirty-two courses required to complete their training and learn the essentials of the bricklayer trade, while students in the Concrete Finisher Trade will complete fifteen of the twenty-two courses required to complete their training and learn the essentials of the Concrete Finisher Trade.

Upon completion of the First-Year, students will enter the workforce, become registered as apprentices with the Department of Advanced Education , Skills and Labour, and will be required to return to school occasionally for the completion of their advanced courses.

Registered apprentices may be funded by Department of Advanced Education, Skills and Labour (Apprenticeship and Trades Certification Division) for their advanced courses.

Once all courses have been successfully completed and the student has obtained 7,200 hours (Bricklayer) or 5400 hours (Concrete Finisher) of schooling and trade experience, they may write their Interprovincial Journeyperson’s (IP) Exam. Interprovincial Certification is recognized throughout Canada.
